The following classes will be held at O’Tooles’ Herb Farm in Madison, FL. (East of Tallahassee) Call 850.973.3629 for information or email herbfarm@shareinet.net . Prepayment is required. 4/28/07- Making your own herbal salves, ointments and lotions – a hands-on workshop Learn to make your own topical treatments! One of the salves we will make is wonderful for fire ant bites others nourish the whole body. Bring (1) 6 ounce glass jar and (3) one – two ounce glass jars. 4/29/07 - Natural Perfumery – Blending essential oils for a healthy body and a healthy home. Essential oils carry the spirit of the plant that elicit personal responses from us that come deep from our limbic system. Learn to blend these scents to create natural perfumes and to enhance your environment. Create a symphony of top notes, base notes, and middle notes. Bring at least two very small containers that close. Old perfume bottles are ideal if they have removable tops. Class fees are refundable up to two weeks prior to the class. Prepayment is required. Or would you like a refresher in basic soap making techniques? In this workshop we will make 2 different soaps. You will learn how to safely use lye and the different techniques that will generate beautiful effects. The emphasis is on natural ingredients, including herbs. Bring at least 2 - 4 ounce containers for the soap. These should be plastic but other materials will also work. The containers are not re-usable once they have been used for soap. 5/19/07 - Saturday: 10AM - 2:PM Not Just a Pretty Bottle – Using Herbal Vinegars Most of us can make herbal vinegar but then we wonder how to use it. We will make a delicious lunch using herbal vinegars in many different ways. Then we will all make 2 bottles of vinegar so we can experiment at home. Bring 2 - 8 ounce glass bottles with tops. 6/9/07 - Saturday: 10AM - 2:PM An Herbal Feast – Cooking with Herbs - This workshop is held in Jacksonville and will focus on using fresh cut herbs. We will construct a lunch made up only of herbal recipes. As usual we will sample herb infused wines. Also available: Advanced Soap making - This is a class for those who have some knowledge of soap making. We will make a milk soap using a standard cold process. We will also make true liquid soap using potassium hydroxide and a hot process. Making

care for ourselves. We will explore infusions and tinctures and the axiom
